
is an architect (ETHZ 2000), artist and scientist with a PhD in architecture and cognitive neuroscience (EPFL 2012). She is currently a lecturer at the Institute of Visual Narrative and the MA Design at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
Her works explore the mutual and intimate relationship between body and space through immersive multimedia, with a particular interest in the multisensory enhancement of the user’s horizon. She has been a researcher at the Center of Neuroprosthetics EPFL, the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Versailles, visiting Professor at the Design Department of Zürich University of the Arts (ZHdK), the Art and Design Academy of Tsinghua University, a lecturer at the School of Engineering and Architecture EPFL as well as a guest lecturer at the Städelschule Architecture Class.
Isabella has planned a new City in Angola and built a temporary bank building in Luanda. She has won several international competition prizes and exhibited her work at Swiss and international art venues (Mappings Festival; City of Rome; City of Helsinki; EPFL; Beijing Design Week; Beijing Triennale; Shanghai Art, Science & Technology Exhibition; Swiss Art Awards; EAC ‘Les Halles’; Werkschau Architektur; HSLU Design, Film and Art).
